Another challenge card...

This is my last "Appetizer" card I made for the Paper Chef VSN over at Splitcoast a few weeks ago. There is another round coming up on Saturday so we'll see what kind of creations I can come up with then! :) This card uses glossy card stock - something I haven't done much of - and the salted background technique. I think I have to practice this technique a little more to get the right affect. The glossy card stock is mounted on a Soft Suede card base. I used the Animal Stories stamp set and also the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the sentiment. The background colors are Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzelberry, and Soft Suede. I used Stazon to stamp the animals. I also used the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch and finished it off with some 5/8" polka-dot Soft Suede grosgrain ribbon.

Yesterday I made some cute welcome back cards for my co-workers. We start back to work here in a few weeks and I have lots of goodies planned for a welcome back goodie bag. Everyone likes to get presents right? I also finished one of two projects that I am making for my friend Angela who will soon have a new addition to her family. I will post pictures on those later.

Thanks for visiting! :)

another card and the big 5 oh..

This card is the 3rd card I made for the Paper Chef's Challenge over on Splitcoast a while ago. The challenge was to use colors you would find in wilted greens... I didn't know how I would like these colors before I put them together but I ended up loving the way it turned out! For all the dirty details on this card check it out in my gallery over at splitcoast.

On another note, my mom turns the big 5 oh in a couple weeks. Last year for her birthday I made her a card tin and some cards so she had some on hand when she needed them. I thought that in honor of the big birthday I would make her 50 cards to replenish her tin. Be on the look out over the next few days for some cute creations!

A little something...

Here is the second of 4 cards that I made for the last Paper Chefs Challenge over at Splitcoast. I love the colors pink and green! The poster of the challenge (I forgot who it was at the moment) put out the challenge when she was inspired by the colors of a dragon fruit. I had never heard of a dragon fruit before but she showed pictures for the challenge. A Dragon fruit is pink and green on the outside and white and black... almost looking like no bake oreo cheesecake... on the inside. The challenge was to use those four colors in your card. I used the colors Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Basic Black. I used the Kind and Caring Thoughts stamp set for this card. I also did some embossing on the flower using Black Classic Ink and Clear Embossing Powder. To finish off this card I used my Corner Rounder Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, and some 5/8" satin ribbon.

On another note... The pre-order for the new Holiday Mini catalog starts in about one week. I have a HUGE wish list and I have no clue how I am going to pick and choose what to get for my first order from it. There are just so many great things!

PS... sorry for the crazy sizing... I was trying to fix it but couldn't figure out how. Believe me.. when I'm typing this it's not that size!

Hole-y card

This past weekend I played in the Paper Chef challenge over on Splitcoast. Here is a card I made for the first challenge. The challenge was to use a hole punch to crate a card that had a hole-y look like in swiss cheese. This card is also my first card using the new In Colors. I am slowly warming up to them! Every year it's hard to give up the old In Colors and get used to using the new In Colors. This card uses the new Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Bremuda Bay, and Rich Razzelberry. The other two new In Colors that aren't used are Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. I also used the new In Color pokadotted ribbon in Melon Mambo. The nice thing about this ribbon is that the polka dots are only on one side so if you don't want them showing you don't have to see them. I also used the new modern label punch for this card. This punch goes great with the word window punch! I used two new stamp sets on this card - Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes. Hope you like the card! Leave a comment if you're out there! :)

Croppin Up a Storm!

So last week after cleaning up my craft room I decided that I would go through some of the stuff I have in my craft room closet. I went through my 2 cropper hoppers (yes 2!) and then got out the box of photos that I had been scrapping about 2-3 years ago (I know, sad that it's been that long!) and decided to try to get all caught up - or at least get through my college years. I got through most of my first senior year of college - only have a few from that summer left to scrap - before the weekend when I wanted to participate in the Paper Chefs VSN. Here are a few of the pages that I got done...

Here's the new deal of the week! I love the Hodgepodge Hardware and am really excited to be able to get it for 30% off. Visit my Stampin' Up! website today to take advantage of this great deal. :)

Stampin Up! Deal of the week #3

I just got a preview of the new Holiday Mini from Stampin' Up! and there are sooo many cute things! I can't wait until we have pre-order so that I can get some more goodies. Before I went to Nashville I spent some time organizing and cleaning up my stamp room. That lasted about 2 days! Then when I came back I went through soem stuff I had stored in the closet in there and made another mess. I decided that It was time to get some scrapping done and give the cards and such a break for now. I will try to post pictures of that tomorrow as long as y'all (a little something I picked up from my trip;) ) don't mind that these pages definetly aren't all SU Only pages. I found that I have so much stuff that isn't SU and in order to make room for more SU goodies I need to use up some of the other stuff I already have. My goal is to finish up my "college" years scrapbook (yes I am one of those who scrap in chronological order) by the end of the week. I also have a project that I want to get done before the school year starts for my classroom so we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings... Stampin' Up's! Deal of the week this week is.....

Remember, you can contact me by phone or email or go to my SU website located on the side bar ----------> to order these brads... I've got them, I've used them. They are awesome! :)
