Birthday CASE

The past few weeks I haven't been able to channel any good ideas for card making. Usually when my stamping mojo goes missing I try to find a challenge to help me "get over the hump". This time I turned to my Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog. I needed to beef up my stock of birthday cards so I kept that in mind. I opened up to the first pages of the IBC and found a layout that I liked. I used the layout, maybe a few colors from it, and came up with a card. I then moved on to another page with another card and another layout. Here is one of the cards that I came up with. For the most part I followed the sample in the IBC pretty closely. The only differences are that I used a different ribbon and a different sentiment.
Stamps: Love Bugs, Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Confetti White Card Stock, Inks: Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Accessories: Wild Wasabi Double Stitch Grosgrain Ribbon

Hope you all have a safe and happy New Year!

And the count down begins.....

.... Not only to the end of the year and start of another, but also for the start of Sale-a-bration and the new Occasions Mini Catalog. Sorry for the lack of posting lately! Stampin' Up! has some really great deals coming up with the new Occasions Mini and Sale-A-Bration starting on January 5th. Check back in a few days to see some cards made with some goodies from the Occasions Mini and some other cards that I've been working on. I got a new camera for Christmas so I'm hoping that my picture quality will be a little better too! Hope everyone had a great holiday no matter which one you celebrated.

Happy New Year! (well, in a day or so)

Toot Toot!

It's not often that I toot my own horn but Toot Toot! It's been a while since I've posted a card but this is cause for celebration. About two years ago I started doing these challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. I've never "won" one before or even been an honorable mention... until now :) About a month ago maybe they had their big Virtual Stamp Night challenge which revolved around the theme of Masquerade Ball. I participated in many many challenges but this one was one of my favorite. The challenge was to design a card that revolved around an era. I chose the roaring 20's and a flapper style dress. Well my card was chosen as The Best Costume in the Costumes Through History Challenge. Here is the card I made......
Don't cha just love it?! The card was inspired by this dress.

Supplies: Ink - Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry. Paper - Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry. Stamps: In The Spotlight (retired), Let's Party (retired) Acessories - Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestone Brad, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" circle punch.
