Triple Time Stamping

Triple Time Stamping is another one of my favorite techniques! I made a Halloween card back in October for my stamping technique class using this technique. I was really excited to see this technique as part of The Friday Mashup challenge this week. I decided to not only take on the technique part of the challenge but also the color challenge and mash them together to make this card.
I had been looking for a stamp set that I could mix together in this way to "replace" the retired Circle Circus stamp set. I never thought to do it with the Delicate Doilies stamp set but today I went for it. I really like how it turned out. Thanks for taking a peek at my card. Please leave a comment :)

Ink: Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Summer Starfruit
Paper: Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Pacific Point

Two challenges with one card

Today I combined two challenges to make one card. I used the sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge and the colors from the Dynamic Duo challenge.

Here is the card that I came up with.
I love how the Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze compliment each other. I never would have thought to put these two colors together before but I think that they work. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card. Please leave a comment :)

Inspired by Stamping #55

Today I made this card for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #55 color challenge.
I used the colors Sahara Sand, Tempting Turquoise, and some DSP that had Pool Party in it. I think these were pretty close to the colors that they gave us. Here is the card that I made for the challenge.

I just love the Perfect Blend stamp set from the new catalog! It's so cute!

Freshly Made Sketches Butterflies

I saw this "technique" about 3 months ago and have just loved it ever since. I love how the edge of the card follows the line of butterflies. About 2 months ago I made a card using this technique for a stamp class and then another card using a bird stamp for my stamp retirement party technique class.

Today I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Here's the sketch we had to work with.

New In Colors and Fab Friday Challenge

Every time I look at all of the new In Colors together all I can think about is an ice cream shop. For those of you who really know me know that I LOVE ice cream so this might not come as a big surprise. :) I really am in love with all of the new In Colors either together or seperate but I think my favorite one is Coastal Cabana. I am just loving that shade of greenish blue, or bluish green - however you want to look at it :) I was excited to see that this week's challenge on the Fab Friday Challenge blog was using the new In Colors on your card. That inspiration paired with a card I had seen on Pinterest gave me inspiration to make this.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card.

ColourQ Challenge # 194

I love the colors in this week's ColourQ Challenge! They are so summery and fit perfect with thoughts of watermelon and strawberries which are perfect this time of year. Here is the color inspiration we got this week to play around with...
Here is the card I was inspired to make. I wanted to use watermelons or popsicles or something but also wanted to be a little different than the obvious choice.

I decided to go with pennants instead because it still has the summery feel.... at least to me :)

Thanks for checking out my card. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Nacho Average Challenge #51

I just love the name of this challenge! This is also a new challenge that I actually just found the other day while surfing some stamping blogs that I follow. Here is the sketch that we were provided with this week...

Here is the card I was inspired to make.....

I'm not sure that I love this card. Has that ever happened to you? You start creating a card and you think it's going to work out in your head but by the time you get it finished you just look it at think "Meh?" I showed it to my husband and told him that it wasn't my favorite and he asked "Why did you make it then?" lol we both started laughing and  I told him it looked better in my head than on the paper. I think we both agreed that it looked like a rainbow had lost it on this card. Oh well, maybe next time!

Thanks for checking out my card.

Techno Stamper's Sketch Challenge

This is the first time I've played along with the Techno Stamper's Sketch Challenge. I've had it bookmarked in my Daily Challenges folder for a little while (yes, I'm a nerd like that) but this is the first time I've caught it and been able to play along. Here is the sketch that we were given this week...
And here is the card that I was inspired to make...

I think this is my most favorite card I created today! I just love these colors together! I thought about adding some dashed lines using a white gel pen around the edge of the main rectangle but I was too chicken to "totally mess up" the entire card.

Thanks for checking out my card. Please remember to comment :)

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

So I've had this challenge opened up in a tab on my computer since Monday. I've said before that I want to do more stamping this summer and "play" in more challenges so it's not like I "had" to do anything with this sketch but I just "had" to.....know what I mean? ha ha...

So today I finally sat down and something came to me! I was able to make a card using this sketch and honestly it's one of my favorite cards I worked on today. I think part of the problem was that I was focusing too much on using all current products and after going through my current stamp selection I realized that most of what I do have that's current are all word and phrase stamps. I'll have to fix that! So in the meantime will you please bear with me as I try to mesh retired with current products? I figure this can't be all bad since I'm sure not everyone on the planet sells off or gets rid of their retired stamps and paper every year so someone has to at least have these products hanging around that they could use some new ideas for right?? :) Alright, enough of that. Here's the card I made for the Mojo Monday Sketch #298.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card. Don't forget to comment please :)

I really like this color combo and will probably use it again real soon. I love how the Coastal Cabana goes with the Crushed Curry. :)

Thanks for checking out my card. Please leave a comment.

A little new, a little old: ColourQ Challenge #193

I'm so happy that my summer vacation is finally here ... well mostly. I'm still teaching summer school for the next two and a half weeks but it's only about 4 hours a day which leaves me plenty of time to relax and get other things done. Yesterday I finally got a chance to play along with some of my favorite stamping challenges. Here is a card that I made for the ColourQ #193 challenge.

A Fond Farewell, A Happy Hello, and A Welcome Back!

Stampin' Up! is at it again. Today they announced their Color Renovation. As sad as I am to see some of the colors like Regal Rose and Not Quite Navy go, I'm excited to see that Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Island Indigo get to stay and become part of our Core Colors. I was hoping that Lucky Limeade would get to stay too but no such luck! We are also welcoming back Bermuda Bay (yay!!), Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Crushed Curry. Along with all of these changes we are also getting a new Neutrals color - Smoky Slate which will be a lighter gray color.

Check out the chart below to find where all of these wonderful colors fit in.
Along with this news Stampin' Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING for just a few days April 6-8. What a perfect time to stock up on our retiring colors and coordinating products while supplies last.

Mojo Monday Challenge Card

Wow! It's really been a while since I've updated here. I've mostly been busy with school and every day life so that's why I haven't posted much here. This past weekend I was finally able to get in my stamp room and work on a few cards and prepare for an upcoming workshop that I'm having. It felt good to break out some new stamps and goodies and be creative for a while. I even got home early tonight and was able to spend a little bit in my stamp room playing with this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.

I love how bright and springy my card turned out. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!
