Runner Up!

I just was browsing through some card challenges trying to come up with some fresh ideas for some cards I'm donating for a benefit. I happened to check out the Dynamic Duo website again just to see if they had put up a new color combo yet and surprise, surprise! I was picked as a runner up from last week for this card.

Thank you Julie from the Dynamic Duos Design Team for choosing my card as a runner up! You totally made my day!

Spring Colors....

I don't know about the rest of you but it has been an unusually cold winter here in Minnesota. In Nevada we had winter but it was nothing like Minnesota winter. I was prepared for winter to be worse but this is a little over the top. I am so ready for it to be spring. I've changed the scent in our wax melter, I've been going through things and organizing and doing a little extra cleaning like it were spring cleaning. I am just D-O-N-E with winter! Unfortunately Mother Nature has other plans as I just got the alert earlier today that we are under a Winter  Storm Warning until tomorrow afternoon. Bummer. On this card for the CAS-ual Friday's challenge,  I decided to use some bright fun spring style colors to try to beat these winter blues. I also used some new product. I used the Pool Party twine from the Sale-A-Bration bundle Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. It comes with three colors of twine (Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, and Crisp Cantaloupe) and also a sheet of printed adhesive-backed cork stickers in fun designs. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

You're how old?

I am so happy that I'm finally getting some stamping done in my stamp room! It's been a while since I've played along with the stamping challenges I was trying to do pretty frequently before we moved. I was asked to make some cards to donate for a benefit that is happening in March and the cards I've been making would be perfect for that. This card was made to play along with the Retro Sketches challenge #102 for the week.

Friday Mashup #147

Hi Stampers! I'm on a roll with another card. I got some inspiration for this card from the Friday Mashup challenge for this week. I love the look of spritzing but haven't ever been able to "master" the technique. I either get big splotches or you can hardly tell it's there. I tried it out on today's card and like the way it turned out. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Life Changes

Hi Stampers! It's been a crazy 6 months full of lots of changes. One major change was moving. I don't mean moving across town or even to a neighboring town. Back in August my husband and I moved half way across the country back to our home state of Minnesota. With that brought new jobs, a new place to live and lots of packing and unpacking. You never know how many "treasures" you have until you have to pack it all and move it at once. That goes not only for my stamp space but for the house and my classroom as well. Now that the dust has settled and we are mostly settled I thought I would work on posting here more often. I've worked in my stamp room a few times already but it's mostly been for holiday type stuff - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day etc. Today was probably the first time I sat down to stamp just because. I decided to check out the Dynamic Duo website for some inspiration and found this challenge using Black and Daffodil Delight as the colors for this week.
